The conference will be held in Lincoln which is a small town on the Canterbury Plains, 22 kilometres southwest of Christchurch. It has a population of 6,000 and isn’t an especially historic or culturally significant place; however, it has a supermarket, two pubs and a few restaurants and cafes.




How to get to Christchurch?

Christchurch International Airport. Flights arrive daily from Australia, Singapore. There are several flights a day from Auckland Internal Airport, which is New Zealand’s principle international airport.


How to get from Christchurch International Airport to Lincoln University?

Bus: Take the purple bus (P) to Westfield Riccarton and then take bus number 80 to Lincoln University NZ$8. This will take about an hour.

Taxi: NZ$55–70, about 20 minutes.

Shuttle: NZ$55–130, about 20 minutes.

Walk: Four hours. Don’t do it.

By car: Follow your satellite navigation.

By train: Sorry, the only trains in the South Island are scenic trains that don’t go anywhere near Lincoln University. The last train from Christchurch to Lincoln stopped running 1967.
