Principal Functions of the ISA

Organizes the International Congress of Arachnology

every three years. Recent congresses have been held in Taiwan, Poland, Brazil, Belgium, and South Africa. Attendance varies between 200 and 300 scientists and students from around the world. The Congress features symposia of current interest and contributed papers. 

Maintains a database of arachnological publications

A searchable pdf library of publications uploaded by members and organized by area of interest (Behaviour, Ecology & Faunistics, Morphology & Physiology, Paleontology, Systematics & Taxonomy) and taxonomic order. 

Maintains a database of member arachnologists worldwide

including addresses, contact information, areas and taxa of interest. The list can be filtered on multiple fields.
