Festschrift in honour of Ansie Dippenaar-SchoemanMonday 18.August 2014
During the 11th Colloquium of the African Arachnological Society held at Amanzi Private Game Reserve in South Africa in January 2014, the delegates agreed that a Festschrift be published in honour of Dr Ansie Dippenaar-Schoeman, Senior Research Specialist in Arachnology at the ARC – Plant Protection Research Institute in Pretoria. Ansie has dedicated her more than 40-year career to the study and promotion of research on African arachnids, and has arguably made the greatest contribution of any South African arachnologist to the study of the taxonomy, biodiversity and ecology of our fauna. We feel it appropriate to honour her significant contribution through the publication of a Festschrift.
The African Arachnological Society approached the journal African Invertebrates, who have agreed to publish this special issue. The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2014, with a view to publishing the special issue in July 2015. All submissions should be made to Charles Haddad (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com), who will act as the guest editor for the Festschrift, and should contain taxonomic treatments of any African arachnids. Please do not submit papers directly to the journal editor!
Contributors should please visit the website of African Invertebrates (www.africaninvertebrates.org.za) for details on the preparation of manuscripts and figures. See the Tab on the right of the page INFORMATION For Authors, and please adhere to the house style and requirements of the journal, as outlined therein. Contributors will have access to all of the published papers in the Festschrift and have permission to upload their papers to any medium of dissemination they wish, without copyright issues. They will also receive 25 reprints of their published papers. Page charges are ZAR 150 per printed page (approx. GBP10, EUR13, USD15).
I look forward to receiving your submissions!
